About Us

Olive and Co. was started in late 2016 in the middle of planning a wedding from 2,000kms away. Olive and Co is a husband and wife team. Our Pomeranian Olive serves as our namesake and mascot. She also helps with accounting from time to time. We started as a small military-run business in an even smaller two-bedroom PMQ (military housing). My passions have since shifted. I moved from just a crafting business to more of a blog and shop with this website. Unfortunately in early …. and then again in late 2020. I lost everything while having hosting issues. So here we are again rebuilding, for hopefully the last time!

I created this website as a way to connect with others, to share our experiences as a military family. I have a passion for exploring new places, eating awesome food, and finding creative ways to make a house, a home. I’ve lived in over ten different cities so I’m not a stranger to moving but with every move comes new friends, new places, new adventures, and many new obstacles. The goal of this site is to help you find adventure, fun, and friends amongst all of the challenges of military life.

Hi, I’m Danielle. I’m a bubbly redhead from Toronto currently living in the breathtaking prairies as I follow my air force husband around this beautiful country trying to find adventure in another new city, amongst all of the challenges of military life. The recipes you’ll find here are inspired by the people I adore and the places I love most.

Josh

Josh is a Search and Recuse Navigator in the RCAF. He loves his job, being able to help others and the community. He jokes that you can’t beat a flying office, the views are better than a corner office! Traveling is also a huge bonus: he’s been to Alert (which is the northernmost permanently inhabited place in the world – pretty much the north pole), Greenland, Italy, England, USA, and more. He loves running marathons and exploring all that Canada has to offer, and appreciating every day we are together as a family.
