One thing that really excited me about Winnipeg was the number of farmers’ markets. It makes eating local and exploring everything Manitoba has to offer so much more accessible, there is something for everyone! Today we are highlighting our Top 5. Of course, there is definitely more out there for you to explore beyond this list. These are just our go-to time and time again. These local businesses will surely be a fun addition to your summer!

Jardins St-Léon Gardens – 419 St Mary’s Rd, Winnipeg – 9 to 9 Monday to Saturday, 6 on Sunday.

On the top of my list which will be no surprise to any family or friends that have visited us here in Winnipeg (as they always get taken here) is St. Leon’s. When we first moved here almost every weekend we went to the Forks and then to St. Leon’s. It was our little tradition. I just love everything about it, from plants for the Garden in the spring, to pumpkins and garlic in the fall. It is always my go-to. Lots of great local products can be found here like Spice World spices, Fete ice cream and cookies, Chaeban cheese and ice cream, and so many delicious bakery items.

Wolseley Farmers Market – 980 Palmerston Ave, Winnipeg – Tuesdays/Thursdays: 3 to 6:30.

One of my favourite markets for vegan items! Plant Confections, Jaya’s Preserves, Fete Ice Cream, Flora & Farmer, & Gâto, and more can be found here! While in the Wolseley neighbourhood check out the nearby Back Alley Arctic. It is between the back lane of Canora St and Ethebert St, between Westmister and Wolsey Ave. The alley garage, fences, etc are painted with the beautiful artwork of local artist Kal Barteski. Both make a wonderful date night!

St. Norbert Farmers’ Market – 3514 Pembina Hwy – Wednesday 3 – 7 and Saturday 8 – 2.

Classic farmers’ market feels here. Honestly so charming! So many vendors, and lots of selection, truly to many to list. I especially love when Third and Bird is held at the market so much fun! And no we are not the Olive and Co at the market.

Crampton’s Market – 7730 Roblin Blvd, Headingley – Monday to Friday 9 to 7, 9 to 6 Sat/Sun.

Overflowing with Manitoba goodies! Their Manitoba Manitoba-Made Meal Kits are a great option for busy weeknights! From their coffee bar to baked goods and more. There is no shortage of delicious items here.

Pineridge Hollow – 67086 Heatherdale Rd 25E, Oakbank – Friday from 2-8 and from Saturday 9-3 until October.

Food trucks, lots of great vendors, live music, super cute location, and even a petting farm. Pineridge Hollow has everything you need for a lovely day out. Even the restaurant is sooo good! Walk the greenhouse, and check out the boutique while you are there.
